ABA therapy, focusing on skill acquisition and behavior reduction is provided to students with autism. Intervention is provided either through ‘pull out’ sessions or during the routines of the student at the Centre. The skills that are learnt during the pull out sessions are integrated and generalized in the classrooms. Skills acquisition in the areas of communication, and independent task completion is achieved following ABA techniques like DTT and NET. Communications skills training is based on the principles of Verbal Behavior.
Behavior intervention plans are prepared by behavior analysts and implemented by the ABA team to address behavioral challenges. Individuals are given independent tasks, and strategies are taught to help them to complete these successfully. The aim is to mitigate any problem behavior which interferes with learning.
Demo sessions are provided to parents to support them in securing a conducive environment for learning at home. Behavioral support is also provided to the transdisciplinary intervention team members during their sessions.
ABA therapy is delivered by trained Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT), supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA).
